A boardroom that joins in one tap.

A boardroom that a visitor can drive without a briefing: one tap, and the displays wake, the lights take their meeting scene, the shades handle the glare, and the call connects. The frames on this page are visualizations, built to the delivered design and labeled as exactly that. The standard they depict is the one we commission and document.

The brief

End the ten minutes everyone had learned to budget for.

The client's old boardroom had capability to spare and a ritual to match: the right input hunted down, a cable passed around the table, the far end asked to hang up and rejoin. The brief wasn't more technology. It was the removal of the ritual.

That framing set the standard for the whole fit out. If a first-time visitor can't walk in and start on time without calling anyone, the room isn't finished.

How we build it

Physics first: sightlines, coverage and acoustics, then the finish.

The display is sized to the farthest seat, the camera frames faces rather than a room, and microphone coverage was designed to every chair and verified in the finished space. The glass got acoustic treatment, because a room that photographs like a glass box shouldn't sound like one.

Behind the millwork it runs on the same control backbone as the rest of the building, so one tap means the same thing here as in every other room on the floor, and the platform can change in three years without a refit.

In service

Commissioned, documented, and quiet on Monday mornings.

The room was commissioned against its written standard, seat by seat and call by call, and handed over with the documentation that makes a fault a ten minute diagnosis: drawings, elevations, configuration and the reasoning behind them.

The standard is written down, so the next room on the floor starts from it rather than from scratch.
